Deed I Do

I've never heard this before, from a WSM programme in the early 50's. Chet with Dolores Watson.
The last chord, before the recording fades out, would denote that there was follow up piece. Let's hope we get to hear that too

Thanks! I also had never heard it before. It sure put me in a good mood for at least today. Can you imagine, in the early 50s hearing Chet play for the first time? I mean nobody was playing like that in those days. Very original styling, of course based on others for the basic thumb style but all those nice chords and harmony he was able to dream up.

One thing I'd like to ask someone out there who knows about the history of PA systems and recording electronics, there is a nice reverb effect for both Chet and the singer. How was that achieved? Was electronic reverb available in say the early 50's which I presume this broadcast was done given the style Delores Watson was singing. I know in the early days of rock'n'roll (mid 50's), they would use fully acoustic methods to achieve reverb. I remember an old joke that goes "so and so went so deep in the echo chamber that he couldn't find his way back out (for some one hit wonder I guess)". Anyhow I loved this rendition of "Deed I Do" and was wondering about the reverb effect.

I really enjoyed this. It was great hearing a Chet Atkins performance I hadn't heard before and Delores Watson had a wondeful voice.
