I've been practicing this tune daily now and its coming along. I think this is one of the more difficult Chet tunes because he displays a lot of his more difficult styles like his tremolo and his double harmonics (is that what you call it?).

I only know of 2 versions and one is his recording of Somewhere My Love on 'Chet Goes to the Movies' and an awesome video of Chet playing it on the Porter Wagner show. His recording goes at 122 bpm but on the show he played it around 150. On the show he ends it with some beautiful harmonics (check the link out at the end of this post)

Here he is on the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGTClbr0C4k

As far as his tremolo is concerned, I want to be sure I understand his technique. The tune is in 3/4 time and I'm pretty sure he's hitting: pami, pami, pami, etc. That is to say: Thumb, ring finger, middle finger, and then index finger.

You can find the tab to the version from 'Chet Goes to the Movies' here:

There is a classical standard called "recuerdos de la alhambra"
Most classical guitarists play it. Chet has a version of it too.

It is said that by learning this song you learn the technique because the song teaches the technique. I guess that is fair to say and when played perfectly it is a wonderful piece.

This lass is one of my favorite renderers of the song
