Heard Kirk Sand passed away this morning from an anuerism. Great guy and friend, the best nylon guitar maker, period! He will be missed!

I’m so sorry to hear this. He was such a nice man and great guitar builder. I bought 3 guitars from him - a Martin a Gibson CEC and he made a perfect Sand nylon string. About 20 years ago my family, wife and 3 kids, vacationed in Laguna Beach and one morning we showed up at his shop in our bathing suits. He didn’t mind, treated us special and walked the family through his workshop. I had been there before and he let me play a guitar that Chet had used. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of his passing. The first left handed guitar he built was for me in the early nineties. He would send me pictures regularly of his progress. Such a great guy to talk with. RIP Kirk.
