Joe Pass shows a nice evolution from flat picking to finger style work. Little flavors of Chet and Lenny along with his own tremendous sense of melodic interpretation...

I loved that. Notice how he has the neck of the guitar up high. Very smooth and tasteful. Good find, Norm.

A lot of guitarists prefer to keep their necks high. I have a feeling in may improve hand stretches a little. I have a 10.5 inch spread on my left hand so most stretches aren't a problem for me but this neck angle factor is overlooked by most folks.

The great ones know the fret board and don't have to watch their fingers at all to be where they want to be. I have to kind of micro manage my fingers most of the time and I could not see what I was doing with the neck at that level. I wish I could do it and hold my guitar at that angle. There are fingerings that I can't accomplish any more the way I play and the harmonics are almost out of the question. This video was wonderful and I have watched it several times. Just great! Thanks for posting it.
