I have owned a Chet Atkins Country Gentleman guitar for several years now. I
heard Chet was coming to Birmingham Alabama for a show so I promptly ordered
tickets, and began to think of a way to meet Chet and ask him to autograph
my guitar. After several hours of phone calls and scheming, I made contact
with a gentleman named George Lunn, Chet's road manager. George was
extremely nice and accomodating. The night of the show, we went back stage
before the show and met George Lunn. Chet arrived a few minutes later,
talked with me and my wife, and autographed my guitar for me. He was
gracious enough to allow my wife to take some photographs while he talked
with me and signed my guitar. He was very gracious. As you might imagine,
that 1967 Country Gentleman, and the photographs from that evening, are some
of my most prized possesions. The photo is on my office wall as I type
this.
