I first met Chet in 1962 in the famous Carousel Club at Printer's Alley. I
suppose I expected Chet to be as excited to meet me as I was to meet him
but somehow he wasn't.
At that time, he seemed very pleasant but
un-attached. But I was like a kid in a giant candy store. I tried my best
not to let it be known to him how excited I was. I can say honestly now that I've met Chet, shaken hands
with him, and have grown to appreciate his work more and more as time goes
by.
