Musician's home burns at Christmas

Postby smokymtguitar09 » Tue Dec 27, 2011 12:49 am

Emile Pandolfi, a fellow musician I met about three years ago, narrowly escaped a blazing house fire with his three family members Christmas Day in Greenville, SC. Thanks in part to the quick action of a neighbor who brought a ladder when they were stranded on the roof of the two-story house. They were not seriously injured but the house was a total loss along with all the contents including their pet dogs. The Greenville (SC) Music Club has set up a fund for Pandolfi and his family. Anyone is invited to help with financial or moral support through comments to the Greenville Music Club, or the Pandolfi website.

Pandolfi is an acclaimed pianist who injects Victor Borge style humor into his concerts. In person he is a very cordial and friendly man who enjoys sharing experiences with others, especially musicians as he did when in attendance where I was performing. He told me once that when he was growing up he listened to Chet Atkins and other popular instrumentalists of the era.
