Does anyone know the neck radius on a 1959 reissue CG. Thanks, Gary Denham.

Check it with a radius gauge. My 2 Gretsches had 9.5 radius with 12" radius bridges. Not a problem for some styles but critical for others that they be matched. God bless, Ty M.

Hi,
Excuse my ignorance but what exactly do you mean when you speak of 'neck radius',
Thanks, Frank

Frank,

In this context, radius is the curvature on the fretboard, as measured by the arc of a circle with a certain radius. The larger the radius, the bigger the circle, and the flatter the fretboard.

Warmoth also has a pretty good general explanation on their site.

The neck radius of the 6122 Nashville Classic and the Country Gentleman is 12 inches. I asked the company that sells the tru-arc bridge, and they confirmed that it´s so.

George, that was a good visual illustration. We use that same concept in physics concerning the topic of optics as related to lenses, etc.
