Hi,
I have gretsch viking guitar that dates back to 1967. At the inside it's signed by Jimmy Atkins, 19-04-69 and a word that reads like Park Hall, but not sure. It is written with a normal pen. Does anybody know the story behind this? What does it mean. Thanks for letting me know.
Paul
Re: jimmy atkins signed gretsch viking
I don't know any specifics on that guitar, but I knew Jimmy in those days. Jimmy is Chet's nephew and Park Hall is a superb jazz guitarist who ran a guitar repair shop and Jimmy worked for him and also gave some guitar lessons.
So I'd speculate that you have a Viking that was worked on or owned by Jimmy or Park. Sorry I couldn't offer more.
