Jerry's Steeplechase Lane

Postby Kerry Appoo » Mon Aug 15, 2011 3:37 am

I first heard this tune when it came out on Chet's compilation CD "Pickin' On Country" in about 1995. I really liked it from that day and I figured it was probably something old from way back that Chet had arranged for the guitar. Anyway, to get to the point, does anyone know how Jerry Reed came up with the name of this number. I think it fits the bill.

That's the name of the street that Jerry lived on.

And Chet is the one that named it. Jerry seldom named his tunes, generally leaving it to someone else to come up with the name. (I can identify with that ... I hate naming the tunes I cone up with.)
