Chet and Elvis

Postby Jamie Foshee » Tue Jul 12, 2011 11:59 am

Thanks to the ChetBoard, I know now that Chet was the guitarist on Elvis' "Heartbreak Hotel" and now am wondering if Chet was also playing on "Mystery Train" which, according to the 50's channel on XM radio, was recorded 56 years ago yesterday. It sounds more like Scotty than Chet on "Mystery Train" but I'd love to know for sure who was playing. Thanks,

Elvis' version was recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis, before Elvis went with RCA. Scotty plays guitar on that one. Chet only really played rhythm on Elvis' records, as I recall reading from those who were in a position to know.
