Stan, I checked out your White Falcon in Jay Scott's book and noticed it had actual "F" holes. I had no idea that the White Falcon still had open sound holes, even though the other models had changed to the electro tone body with the closed ones. Thanks for the chance to learn something new. Have a great day.

I think the Country Club never went to 'electrotone' either

I had a Stereo White Falcon and it was indeed split by 3 treble and 3 bass strings. I carried around 2 amp's at one time and it did get old very fast and the audience didn't know the difference or care what you had. There was a split box that had a stereo chord going in and 2 regular cords coming out. If you used just a plain cord going into the guitar it worked in mono. That is how I ran it 99% of the time. It was a great guitar and I regret ever selling it but we have all been there at one time or another.

That's the thing. If you play only for guitar players you starve. Les Paul put it this way...

“…The people you’re playing for work all day. They don’t go to music schools and study harmony. They pay their dough, they come to listen, If they don’t understand what you’re doing, they walk out. What are you supposed to do, tie ‘em to a chair with a rope while you explain you’re performing great music?”
___Les Paul (an american original)

Same would apply to such things as stereo guitars and such.

I looked in Jay Scott's book and the photos show that Country Clubs of that era did have open sound holes. Jay Scott said they got the other electrotone features - thin body, back pad, stand by switch, and mute switch, but by the mid '60s, those features were gone. It was interesting to see that they had a color photo of a 1961 Country Gent with open sound holes. I wonder if they used a Country Club body for that one.

Have a great day.
