Re: Steve Wariner Interview
What a super talent he is, and a genuinely nice person! His guitar tone is consistently good regardless of what guitar he plays.

That Gretsch at the beginning looks like it might be a '58 CG. At first, I thought it was a '59 with a flat handle and different neck pickup, but after looking at it a little closer, I saw other differences as well. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Oh, and Steve is great as usual. One of the most genuine and classy people around.

If you watch the The WoodSongs OldTime Radio Hour show #531, you will hear and see Steve talk about that guitar in a bit of detail. It is indeed a 58.

Terry...
Looks like a '58 reissue. No zero fret and a bigsby that is painted instead of the vee cut. Looks like the gent on the original Hollywood album and that Was a 58

Norm- Yes, Steve has a '58 reissue.
Terry- I think the guitar he's talking about is his orange single-cut 6120. He has a tune-a-matic bridge on it. He also used one of Paul's guitars (fixed up like the D'Angelico) on the tribute CD. The CD has photos of the different guitars he used, and a little bit of info about each one.

Re: Steve Wariner Interview
The orange single-cut 6120 is the one I was referring to that he used on the Woodsongs show. He said it was "his buddy", meaning it was special to him. I saw him live recently in Chandler, Arizona, and he used a very new looking Country Gent, or possibly a well-taken care of Nashville Classic. It had a swing-away wire vibrato. I wasn't in the nose-bleed section, but I would have to be closer than I was to have seen the difference. I was not referring to the guitar he was using on the interview video, which is probably what Bill was referring to when I posted the comment. Sorry if I caused a confusion.
