Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Postby emjaybee94 » Mon Apr 04, 2011 12:32 pm

Put this video on U Tube over the weekend. Not the greatest performance, but then, I'm not Chet or Tommy!
Played on my CGP through a Phil Jones Briefcase Amp.

Mike, that was really nice! I see that you don't use a thumb-pick. Your harmonics were very articulate and I know how hard they are to get right. You've inspired me to work on a version of this!

thanks!

Thanks for the comments. I think I play it a lot better on a gig though. I'm not so keen on playing in front of a camera as I tend to make too may mistakes, resulting in a lot of takes.

I actually do use a thumbpick, but it's a very petite one; a Fred Kelly Speedpick. It's taken me quite a few weeks to get used to it, but I won't be going back to using the big picks anymore

That was great Mike,I love to see a person just sit down and make the guitar talk without the aid of backup, you are a fine player.

Thank you Bob

Hey Mike,
Real nice job on that. The harmonics on that song are tough. I had to learn it for a wedding, but I didn't do the harmonics. I might have been able to work them out if I'd had another year or so in advance. Again, very nice work!
