For Paul: Standel volume

Postby George Beasley » Fri Aug 27, 2010 6:53 am

Paul,

How loud (volume control 1-10) did Chet normally run his Standel when recording with his electric guitars? Did he keep the volume the same when recording with his nylon string guitars?
Thanks,
George

This thread is somewhat dated but I thought I would add this photo to it,
considering the subject of Standel amps. I believe this magazine clipping
is from an older Frets magazine. It's pretty cool. The caption on the clipping
reads "Joe Maphis and Merle Travis with customized Gibson Super 400s and early
Standel amps, 1955".

#1026 was originally built for Les Anderson, right?? Incidentally, my reissue 25L15 is a #26 :)

And oh, I like the new look of the board!!
