I have read somewhere that two different type tape delay machines were made in the sixties and seventies; one tube driven and one without. Do you know if the tape delay box Chet used in the seventies was the tube version? Thanks for any help you can give!

When I started working with Chet he was using the gray Echoplex we took it on the road later they sent him the solid state black one, then the Lexicon 41 came out and he used it until the 42 came along, thanks paul

Keep in mind, Steve, that "most" of his recording used a reel to reel machine. The items Paul mentions were, I believe, mostly for when they were on the road.
Still, he did use the others on some recordings (Chester and Lester comes to mind and there were probably others)
