Bob Frye - Limehouse Blues

Postby Tom Workman » Tue Feb 08, 2011 2:39 pm

Hey, everyone... a friend of mine, also a member of this board, just sent me a link to a new Bob Frye video where he plays both guitar parts and bass on Limehouse Blues. Check it out... a real treat. Nice job on audio and video, Bob. -Thanks, Tom W.

Bob,
Really cool video and playing. Great job on that You Tube video! Plus isn't that the electric nylon guitar you built yourself? :)

I loved it! Absolutely loved it!

Great stuff. I'm diving back in for my second listen.

Fine picking. Mighty fine.

Love the video Bob, and all the effort you put into making it. Those two Chet/Jerry albums were just the best thing in the world IMO.

Bob, I don't quite what to say about that. You did so nicely on so many different levels! It's obvious that you've put in time practicing your technique in general. Then it's obvious that you've put "special time" into mastering all of the individual parts of this song. I purchased both of those Chet/Jerry albums when they first came out roughly 40 years ago. I've listened to those songs many times over the years and my ears and my memory were primed in anticipation of every
note you played, so I would consider myself to be a "qualified critic" . I was extremely impressed! What you did wouldn't have been possible for most Chet/Jerry fans. Then there was the issue of producing your video! That was fantastic and demonstrated a high level of mastery of your software and production techniques that I have no clue about.
