My new Heritage Super Eagle :)

Postby Larry Lenhart » Wed Jan 26, 2011 8:53 pm

Just received my new Heritage Super Eagle today....new to me anyway. I think it is a real beauty and a pleasure to play....I will add a Bigsby to it, and call it my Merle Travis guitar. :) I have a super400 but it is a blonde with one floating pickup. I figure if I cant talk about a new guitar here, where else can I ? Thanks for this great forum.

Sure looks a whole lot prettier than the ugly Blue one of "ol' What's His Name"....."The Maestro". I see that model is no longer in production, the website is shutdown, and you don't hear a peep from him.

Sweet guitar. Congratulation. You know, if you really wanted to go all out on the Travis thing, you could always drop in a pair of P90's.....
Thanks,
George

Re: P-90's
I would Definitely check TV Jones

http://tvjones.com/pickups/pickups.html

His reputation for quality is well known and he is accessible for discussion of how to mount his product. (on that note, he sometimes gets behind on his correspondence but he will communicate)

Larry.......I think that Seymour Duncan made the P-90's that Thom Bresh uses on his D'Angelico and they sound fantastic! I seem to recall that maybe the name was Vintage something or another. Thom told me but I forgot what he said. I am friends with him on Facebook I might ask him later on.

Larry...........I asked Bresh about the P-90's and he said that they were "Dog Eared P-90's" made by Seymour Duncan and that they are "Great"!!!

Larry,

You want the Antiquity P-90s. They come dog-eared or soap-bar, standard, but you might want Seymour Duncan to put them into a humbucker case (which they can do--for a price), rather than permanently modifying the top of that nice guitar.
