Re: What's your dream guitar collection?
I think it would be cool to have a Gibson L10. Also I still love the sound of Chets D'Agelico. Chet used the D'Angelico on Bigfoot but it sounded different than when he recorded with it in the 50's. That sound he got in the 50's is without equal. Al

Re: What's your dream guitar collection?
Hmm, I already mostly have what I want/need, but:
I'd like to add the Gretsch 6122-59
I'd like a well made (i.e. something that intonates properly), fake Delvecchio - long scale.
A nice fully acoustic classical guitar (not sure what maker, just anything that sounds good)
A good sounding Les Paul Deluxe
A good sounding Les Paul with P-90s
A 335
A fully acoustic archtop
I already have
Super-400 with Bigsby
Gibson RD-Artist
Telecaster
Stratocaster
Acoustic flattop (a Jubal built by my dad)
Taylor 510 CE
A nylon string electric (another Jubal)
Now, in case anybody gets any funny ideas about borrowing them from my place without telling me, I also have a shotgun

All shotguns are by their very nature short scale. My long-scale is is a .444 Marlin, good out to 250 yards or so.

That's impressive, Steve! 250 yds. is 2 & 1/2 football fields. I'm not sure I could see the bull's-eye on a target that far away? I would hope that a short scale Gretsch, such as the CGP, would be good for the same distance.....lol.

Well, it's not exactly a keyhole puncher at 250 yards, more like an artillery piece, but I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end.
