Great new Brooks Robertson videos

Postby Tony Enamel » Wed Dec 29, 2010 8:03 am

Hi everybody,

there's a bunch of Brooks Robertson videos in the studio and in concert, that have been uploaded to Youtube in the last couple of months by himself or others, but haven't been mentioned here I think.

"Across The Globe/Buster Groovin'": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQFstptcI_s

"Jus D'Orange": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3GsusQygho

"Pass The Buck": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43SnhSZ_SDM

"Eiffel Power": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHpm_VEciFQ

"Borsalino": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0K7dWZqkak

"Fingers in Flight" (with Paul Biondi on sax): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9GZMINYyZw

"Peanut Butter & Jelly" aka "Skippy" (with Taylor Malone): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k49lNgTBy8

"Windy & Warm": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agcK683JJCM

"Guts & Steel" (with Thom Bresh): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFxXDjJ6wAw

What a player! Groovy and soulful at the same time.

Enjoy!

Ingo

Extraordinary talent. Great technique. Superb execution. Nice creative bent.

Man, I LOVE Buster Groovin. Might have to learn that tune someday. Brooks does a fine job on it. All I gotta do is steal his licks, right?

Wishing the best for this fine young man. Hoping he continues along the musical path (well, I hope he does what's best for him, but I'd selfishly like to see him stay in music). Some of the best picking I've watched in a long time.

Brooks has some more great new videos up!

I particularly like this performance of "Borsalino":

Great tone! What guitar is that?

More stuff (Jerry, Buster) here: http://www.youtube.com/user/MrBrooksRobertson#g/u

Cheers,

Ingo

Bruce, that wasn't the "Buster Groovin'" that I know. As I looked closer, the title on the YouTube video was "Groovin" without the "Buster" part. I agree with you about "Buster Groovin" but that wasn't demonstrated here.

Rande,

Brooks himself says in the video description as well as in the title "Buster Groovin'". Only the video insert says "Groovin'" alone, but that was probably done by the video editor, not Brooks himself.

Ingo, I don't know why I didn't notice your post before? I'm quite familiar with "BusterGroovin" and have played it myself. If Brooks gave that name to the song he recorded here, then he chose to use the same name for 2 different songs. I guess that I've seen the same thing for Jerry's song "Struttin". There are 2 different songs of his with the same title. One is on nylon string and one is on a solid body electric.
