I never knew until recent years thanks to youtube what a great fingerstyle player he was. I didn't even know his name or that he was part of The Ventures. I wonder if he was with them when they had the hit "Walk Don't Run" which I really liked as a kid.

Wow .... even though we've known Nokie's health was not good, it still comes as a shock to hear he's gone.
CAAS will never be the same, with out Nokie rolling up on that little red scotter, with a smile on his face.
He'd tell an honery joke, and then help you with any guitar questions you'd have, or just "talk music" in general.
His wife, Judy, has always been so nice to talk with, and share a laugh about every day sort of stuff.
