Martin OOOO-28H For Sale - SOLD

Postby slickstring » Sun Dec 19, 2010 7:09 pm

Dear Forum Members,

It is with deep regret that I am offering my 2009 OOOO-28H Custom. I ordered this guitar on March 18th, 2009 and took delivery on August 17th, 2009. It has a solid Adirondack top with fine herringbone inlay around the edge. Solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides with the back including a solid mahogany wedge outlined in fine herringbone. The entire guitar is surrounded with grained ivoroid. The rosette is Style 45 and the bracing is 1/4 inch scalloped forward shifted golden era. The fingerboard and bridge are solid black ebony with diamonds and squares pattern inlay (diamonds on each side of the bridge), a long vintage through saddle and ebony pins with abalone inlays.). The nut and saddle are bone. The headplate is polished black ebony with C.F. Martin logo inlayed in abalone and gold Gotoh open-backed tuners with butterbean knobs. The neck is made of solid mahogany with the modified V shape and the carved diamond volute. This custom is very friendly to fingerstyle players because of the 1 and 7/8 inch nut width and a 2 and 5/16 string spacing at the saddle. The case is the 500 series Geib style. The guitar and the case is in MINT condition. I cannot find any marks, divots, scratches, or blemishes of any kind on this guitar. I have given this guitar the ultimate in care. The instrument and case look as if one had just ordered it and in some cases better that what you will find in some guitar shops. Photos attached. The guitar can be seen and heard here: http://www.youtube.com/user/om21lew?feature=mhum Price is $3900.00 plus shipping and insurance. I am selling because I am involved in a lawsuit.

If interested, I can be contacted at om21lew@gmail.com and if need be I will disclose my phone number in a reply e-mail.

Thanks for looking,
Jerry Lewis

That is a reasonable price for a custom built guitar like that. I see in my Martin books that a 2007 model 0000-38 (not 28) was priced at $4199 and that´s a standard model, not custom built. If I were a rich man ....!
