In 2008 I sold my 1987 Gibson Country Gentleman. My wife had bought it for me in 1987 but I was playing a Gretsch more so I put it on ebay. A guy near me bought it and I took it to him and almost cried when I gave it to him.
I never thought I'd see it again.
He immediately put it on ebay. I was furious but in the end if he hadn't I wouldn't have made a dear friend(Joe Hudson)
At CAAS in 2015 I saw Steve Rector playing it. Joe Hudson had bought it on ebay from the guy I sold it to. He found it for Steve.
I told Steve if he ever wanted to sell it please give me first chance at it.
Told Joe the story and he said if he could get it he would for me.
Here it is. Joe bought it for me and I paid him and with the help of Micah Yandell I am restoring it.

Re: Country Gentleman Story
I owned a beautiful Gibson CG that I bought from Rick Allred and my best buddy bugged me constantly to sell it to him and I finally relented and did sell it. Worst guitar decision I ever made!!! Now he has it and I have to hear it every time we get together to play. LOL.... I don't begrudge him the guitar, he is a way better player than I am and it always sounds great when I hear it!
