Re: Paul Yandell, Second to the Best … a Sideman’s Chronicle
Norm, I pre-ordered mine but was surprised to see them here at CAAS so I immediately bought another copy because I wanted the signatures of Marie and Micah, who were sitting right in front of me and which wouldn't be provided by Amazon!

Congratulations Norm!!!!!!!!! I've been pulling for you all along even though I haven't sounded off here on the board like I should have been doing every time you would post a milestone that had been reached in getting the book published. Not only do I appreciate all you've done to have Paul's words preserved in print, I appreciate you as a contributor to this forum! You've never come across to me as opinionated but rather as someone who's interested in Chet's legacy being preserved with accurate details and facts rather than rumor and hearsay.
I've heard details about Chet over the years that I've found out weren't accurate as a result of the many discussions here on the board. I for one would prefer to have my appreciation of Chet based in fact, not hearsay; even the smallest details that may seem trivial. I believe misinformation always has the potential to become more and more "misaligned" over time as it's passed by word of mouth from person to person. As a result I believe it has the potential to become downright malignant even though the information was not passed on with bad intentions.
I'm in the process of attending CAAS and hopefully will own my own copy of the book tomorrow. Congratulations again Norm and thanks for having the foresight to preserve Paul's words and for your perseverance in making your vision a reality!

Don't know what is taking Amazon so long to ship.
The Schiffer site says "Available July 20" which is today so those pre-ordered ones should start moving soon.
I'm a little apprehensive, of course, because of all the work I put into it is for naught if it doesn't hold the reader's interest.
I know Marie and Micah sold quite a few at CAAS but so far only two people, Eddie and a guy at the GDP "farmerbrown" have admitted to actually having a book in hand and reading it.

I actually preordered one and bought one for myself from Marie and one for Phil Hunt from her as well.
I saw quite a few people buying them at CAAS.
