Paul Yandell, Second to the Best … a Sideman’s Chronicle

Welcome to the new Chetboard!

Paul Yandell, Second to the Best … a Sideman’s Chronicle

Postby Norm » Tue Jul 12, 2016 8:37 pm

I got a notice from Schiffer Publishing today that they were shipping The Book

Sometimes I never thought I would see this day.

For those of you who pre-ordered...thank you. There is a chance Marie and Micah may have some at CAAS. They claim the had sent her some but she hasn't seen them yet. In any case, for those who intend to buy one, thank you, too...

I hope you like it well enough to recommend it to like minded individuals...

Thanks for putting up with my (sometimes aggressive and always opinionated) posts on the Chet board over the years. I never meant any harm or disrespect and apologize if I ever hurt anyone's feeling.

I believe Marie and Micah Yandell actually received some copies to sell at CAAS

As of Wed morning at 10:13 Amazon has not marked mine as shipped and still shows Aug 28 as the date they will have the book.

I am already missing the convention but it just cant happen this year.

Amazon most likely needs to receive their shipment and package them as needed before they announce "shipped"

I think Marie has hers, my batch of books promised are supposed to arrive tuesday of next week

I'm glad they made it in time for the CAAS. They ought to do good there.

I immediately peppered my publishing contact and she (in a nice way) told me to calm down and give her time to answer my question about availability. I keep forgetting that she probably has several book projects she's working on at the same time all like a bunch of hungry nestlings all demanding to get fed at the same time.

She did say this (part of her email):

"... Your book is indeed in stock. I hadn’t had a chance to check it’s status yet (I was away Monday and Tuesday.) I’m so pleased Marie will have the books for CAAS. That’s terrific. I knew there was a possibility, but didn’t want to promise and risk disappointment. It will take a little longer for people who ordered through Amazon or another retailer, but yes, books shipping from Schiffer should arrive soon..."

As for the Yandell's sales... I have a feeling a lot of folks will pick one up, smile, maybe glance at a few page and put it back saying they have pre-ordered it.

But at least they are in country and on the move!
