Elvis original guitar player and dear friend of Chet. Scotty Moore died yesterday after a lengthly illness. I first met him at CAAS. He was a really nice man and great player.
Scotty played with Elvis until he went into the Army including appearing on the Ed Sullivan show.
Scotty will be missed.

Re: RIP Scotty Moore
I was never an Elvis Presley fan but I still like to hear "Hound dog" mainly because of the guitar bridge. I believe it was Scotty Moore who played it. Still sounds fresh to me after all the decades. Correct me please if I'm wrong about who played it.

Rich, I'm not sure about that but I've been told that Chet played on "Heartbreak Hotel".

Re: RIP Scotty Moore
I read in an interview with Scotty, (maybe Guitar Player) that he played lead and Chet played rhythm on "Heartbreak Hotel". Scotty was talking about being nervous about playing in front of Chet.

Re: RIP Scotty Moore
I found this link on youtube of a "live performance" of Houndog. The guitarist might be Scotty Moore but then it seems like they are syncing to the hit recording.
