Welcome to the new Chetboard!

New Christmas album by Suzy Bogguss

Postby Tony Enamel » Mon Nov 29, 2010 2:15 pm

Hi everybody,

I just found out that Suzy Bogguss, who many of us cherish because of her 1990s duets with Chet, has recorded a new Christmas album. So far, it's only available for download, but her website says: "CDs coming soon!"

http://www.suzybogguss.com

It's a mostly acoustic album. Pat Bergeson plays guitar and harmonica on it.

They will tour in various parts of the US in December and finish with a series of shows in Nashville prior to Christmas.

Best,

Ingo

Ingo

I am also a Suzy Boggus fan.

I just went to Amazon.com to see if the CD is available.
The price for the CD is $68.00.

I don't know what that means.
Maybe it means get with the times old timer.

Anyhow, as Christmas draws near, the chances of this CD
being found under my tree are getting slim.

Merry Christmas,
Barry

Barry,

I think they ain't as slim as you think.

Go to her website. The CD seems to be available directly from there for $12.00.

The one you found on Amazon is an older, out-of-print Christmas album. Perhaps it's a rare copy left somwhere. That why it's so expensive.

Best,

Ingo

Check out Suzy performing "Mr. Santa" and "I'll be home for Christmas" on a recent TV show, accompanied by Pat Bergeson:

Merry Christmas Ingo,

Thanks to you, our Christmas has been very merry.
We even enjoy the Grinch song.

What superb musicians she has with her.
Its' hard to believe there are just 4 of them.
I guess when you can attract the best you don't need any more.

I know the other forum members would enjoy this one too.

My best wishes to you on this Christmas Day,
Barry

Glad to hear that, Barry, and Merry Christmas to you, too!

Who's on that record?

I guess Pat B., Will Barrow on keys - who else?

It'll even be a better Christmas for you, when you'll watch Tommy Emmanuel's performance of "Oh Little Town of Bethlehem" that I'll post in the "Video files" section in a second ...

Ingo,

I enjoyed the videos you posted.

The Suzy Bogguss CD credits:
Will Barrow: piano, accordion
Pat Bergeson: guitar, harmonica
Charlie Chadwick: bass, cello
Harry Stinson: drums
Everybody: background vocals

If I recall, Harry Stinson played drums on the old
American Music Shop shows that featured
Mark O'Connor and just about all the "A" team
Nashville musicians of the era.
Hes' a fine drummer and harmony vocalist.

Thanks for posting the videos,
Barry
