In today's newspaper, they listed a concert by Wayne Henderson at the Virginia Beach main library. Here's a link to the concert. There's also a video of him playing Steel Guitar Rag in this link.

Re: Wayne Henderson in Virginia Beach
Ray, thank you for sharing this!
My Dad and I use to play this tune and It has been way too many years since I even thought of it. How could that have happened? So the video immediately put a smile on my face, and I reached for my guitar! Very nice rendition too! I called my Dad and he felt the same way: How could we have forgotten about the Steel Guitar Rag?
I might make it to the concert.
Best regards,
Tom

Wayne has a book of his arrangements, including Steel Guitar Rag:
WAYNE HENDERSON - MADE & PLAYED, TRANSCRIBED FOR FLATPICKING AND FINGERSTYLE GUITAR
I found it here:

And the origin of the tune:

Hi Tom. My wife and I are going to the concert unless it is a miserable rainy day or something like that. I am looking forward to hearing and seeing him play.
I checked out the Elderly Instruments book for sale and there are a lot of great songs in it...especially Buckaroo. I really like that one and I have worked out a finger style version of it myself. I also looked at the link for the origin of the Steel Guitar Rag that you posted. I went to You Tube and found a link to an audio of his recording from back in 19 ought 23 and I enjoyed Silvester Weaver's recording of the song. I hope to get to see you at the concert. Take care.

Re: Wayne Henderson in Virginia Beach
Well, it was a wonderful evening. We both really enjoyed hearing Wayne play. There was an opening act with a local singer/songwriter – her first performance. She had some really nice songs and a really good voice. She sang for half hour and everyone there seemed to enjoy her. Wayne and this lady in the video, Helen White, came out and played from 7:30 to 10 Pm with a 20 minute break in there. He’s a great player and story teller and we just had a blast. She sang songs, played rhythm guitar, and some great fiddle tunes. He made the fiddle she played. He said he sold out of his CDs during the break and before the concert and went back to his truck and found some CDs he had laying in there and sold all of those, too. I got one myself and I’m enjoying it now. This video is a similar concert and has some picking and story telling in it. If you get a chance to see Wayne Henderson, he is a great fingerstyle player and a great storyteller.
