One More Matinee cover(MARK KNOPFLER)-VIDEO

Postby Spadaro Paolo » Sun Mar 01, 2015 1:33 pm

Hello !!!!! (I apologize in advance for any errors in the use of English !!!!)

This time I want to share with you here on board a new cover but not of Chet Atkins, but rather a great fingerstyle guitarist: Mark Knopfler.

I have tried for the first time in the assembly of three different video (with three different guitars) simultaneously; it was not so easy .....

Taylor 814CE ------> Guitar accompagamento (arpeggios and strumming);
Gretsch 6122-1959 ----> I replace the voice of Mark;
AV '52 Telecaster (new pure vintage) ---> electric guitar parts.

I also used the band in a box to simulate the drum.

This song is in the album sailing to philadelphia, particularly impressed me for its sweetness.

Hope you like.

PAOLO.

Paolo, I enjoyed this. It's cool to see the three videos and your sound was great. How hard was it to get those videos sync'd up? Is it an automatic thing with your movie maker, or did you have to work with it a lot?

Paolo, I'm impressed that this type of guitar playing attracts you at such a young age! Most young people would not consider this to be "cool"!

Thanks a lot Ray !!!!!

The work was challenging enough, I used both movie maker that adobe premier pro for this.

I recorded before the accompaniment with backtrack (Taylor guitar), after I recorded the video of the "vocal track" (Gretsch guitar) and in headphone listening to the first recording to be in time; for the last lead guitar (telecaster) always listened through headphones the first recording to stay in time.

Then I mounted the individual video with movie maker and finally I combined and synchronized (manually) the three videos with adobe premier.

(I record the video and audio with different tools:
Iphone for video;
Zoom h6 for audio;)

A long but fun and done with so much enthusiasm, I hope it came a good result. :D

Rande,

The work done by Chet has changed the world of guitar.

I think this is enough for prove Chet Atkins and fingerstyle "COOL" ;) ;) :D

From his style derive all modern fingerstyle guitarists; also his arrangements are still so modern !!!!

Moreover, what strikes me when I listen to a guitarist, is not so much the technique, but because the taste of the arrangement.

Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler (for example, but I can think of others) do this very well,these people should be the example for all musicians (not only guitar players)!!!
