I don't think Chet was too happy with that setup. He looked uncomfortable.

The guitar is a Micro Fret, which I think was Buck Trent's. Could the amp be a Baldwin?

I would have to put that clip into the category of "Another rare Chet Performance that I didn't already have" but certainly not one I would use to introduce Chet to a potential fan! What he did he did well but he didn't do much......lol.

Phil, I don't recognize the amp but I think that's Chet's Martin later on Poison Love. I recall him putting black tape on the headstock. To me, this clip really shows Chet's producer side. He is doing everything he can to help Dolly, Porter and the show. John

Chet would sound good with any setup and He wasn't uncomfortable and played exactly what the song needed(sounded like Chet to me).Good "musicians" not guitar players make the singer sound good and that's what Chet and anybody who knows how to play does. The showcase wasn't for Chet it was for the song and the vocalist(Dolly).I don't associate with players(any instrument)who try to shine and play solos behind singers and there's a lot of lot of 'em on these posts apparently. The song(tune)is always number 1.Everything else is just icing on the cake. How sweet you want it to be,is up to the player.Just don't dig into the cake! The best, Ty M.

It's possible the amp is a Sho-Bud. I found a thread on the Telecaster Forum, & a guy had been emailing Buck Trent. Buck stated he had been using the same Sho-Bud amp since the Porter days.
