I think there is way too little of Guy on YouTube, and I just happened to run across these this morning.
One of my all time favorite pickers, and Woody ain't no slouch either!
Enjoy...

Re: Guy Van Duser...
Russ Cochran once sent an audio clip of Guy doing "Back In Your Own Backyard" with an Anita Kerr sounding group and, boys, I gotta say it sounded so much like Chet it was scary. He said once he would play his tapes for Chet and say words to the effect "Do you remember when you recorded this one, Chet?" and Chet of course didn't because it wasn't his guitaring.

Norm,
I remember that! Seems like it was a demo or something, and Guy said he was going to record it once he got the arrangement worked out. The version I heard was great as it was, but apparently he never recorded it...
I've always admired Guy's guitar work and I think he is a unique talent, in a world of mediocre guitar players!

I agree and Guy is incredible. His "Staying on the Atkins Diet" CD is a favorite of mine and I listen to it often.

Hi Gary,
Yeah, Guy is a remarkable musician. While he can sure sound like Chet when he wants too, where he really shines (in my opinion) is when playing 'ragtime' tunes, Scott Joplin, etc. and he's a master of the moving or 'walking bass' line, which to me is the 'essence' of fingerstyle guitar!
My idea of a GREAT DVD or CD of fingerstyle guitar, would be a collaboration of Guy, and John Knowles, another fantastic fingerstylist!
Wonder if we’ll ever see anything like that happen? (Hint-Hint)…
