Dean Markley /UltraSound Amp Customer Service

Postby TCONNER » Mon Sep 23, 2013 7:47 pm

I have owned 3 of the great little UltraSound 50 watt acoustic amps and the service provided by the original UltraSound(UJC Electronics) folks was outstanding. I am in need of a speaker for my oldest amp and tried to contact UltraSound in Iowa with old phone numbers I had but to no avail. The only working no. connects direct to a Dean Markley phone machine in Phoenix . After leaving a couple messages I have heard nothing and am out of luck I guess. Has anyone had any experience with these people? Is UltraSound gone having been taken out of business by this Dean Markley outfit?

When I needed a lightweight amp, Josh Vittek at Deak Markley sent me the Ultrasound 50. I own 8 of the Carvin acoustic amps AG100 series. This is the finest acoustic amp and you can't beat the $400 price tag. For some reason, I fell in love with the Ultrasound and still use it. Email me off line and I will try to find the phone number for Josh.

Dean Markley bought Ultra Sound, but in the past few months Dean Markley has been bought out, so maybe they will get back with you. EP

Here are the numbers. (888) 993-5091 and (760) 696-3102. The last one is for Josh Vittek, West Coast artist relations.

I would be very curious as to what happened to Dean Markley. I needed an amp around 20lbs. and Josh Vittek sent me a Dean Markley (Ultrasound) 50 watt amp to use. I use this amp with a Fender Strat and I really love the sound. He used to work for Carvin. I have 8 Carvin AG-100 acoustic guitar amps and for $400, you can't them them. I still use the Ultrasound and the Carvin's. Somebody has got to have the insight as to what ahppened to Dean Markley.

Try these numbers for Dean Markley. (800) 800-1008 or (408) 998-2456. See if that works.

Kind'a along these lines...Folks wanting a small lightweight amp with lots of power and amazing tone you might want to try the Phil Jones Acoustic Cub AG100. They have 100 watts and weight about 12 pounds. Sound very good! And all out of 2 - 5 inch speakers!! I don't know how they get that big ol' sound out of such a small package but they surely do!! And the price isn't bad either. I USED to have one. Now I have a 25L15!! What can I say??? But the little AG100 really is a good, small, powerful amp. If you haven't ever tried one or heard one in person, everyone should at least test drive one. You WILL be surprised!!! Steve

I was able to find a Facebook page for Dean Markley, post a comment there and got a reply from one John Weaver of a Blackhawk Mgmt. Group. Turns out they really no longer support the old AG-50 ds2 50 watt amps as to replacement speakers. It has been only 3 yrs since the old Ultrasound folks in Iowa completely went over the amp in question. He did offer to try to find a replacement model speaker somewhere else or provide schematics. He said the proper number for Dean is 800-800-1008 which I had but due to a health issue I never tried. John's number is 925-548-7400,
Thanks for all the help on here.
