I LOVE my Bigsby.
Once I got hooked on Chet I dreamed of getting a guitar with a Bigsby. I used to ride my bike four or five miles to the only store in town that had Gretsch and they would let me play their 6120 (unamplified) so I could add that extra dash the Bigsby gave my primitive Chet efforts. Ride all that way for maybe ten minutes of bliss...
I'm one of the stationary bracket guys and wouldnt' have it any other way.
He used it in "dips" like on Trambone but it was a part of Chet's electric sound until he started playing the CE's. He used it like a singer does. Hit the note, hold the note and add vibrato (on both sides of the note)
