Intro and ending help

Postby Fred » Tue Mar 22, 2011 3:47 pm

Has anyone tabbed out the intro and ending run/harmonics to this wonderful tune. (Babys Coming Home) Craig Dobbin's transcription is excellent, just need help with the embellishments.

I guess no one has! haha, well, i've been able to convert the video to a format that I slow down, so I'm making some progress on this. The harmonics are not visible though. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestion, i'll play with that arpeggio, the last chords sound good. Now for those harmonics anyone.
You know I can really use help on Chet's technique for his fast runs, esp the right hand where he just walks the strings and can really burn it up.

Fred,
The harmonics at the end are fairly standard pulloffs from a barre chord at the 5th fret. I use something very similar on the third harmonic in "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". try this:

I........7.p.5......................7.p.5............................
I.....................6.p.5......................,..6.p.5............
I...5h........................5h..................................5...
I................5h...........................5h......................
I..............................................................5h.....
I.......................................................................

h = harmonic
p = pull off

As you can see, there are far more natural notes played than harmonics, but it gives the impression of a cascade of harmonics. Hope that helps

Regards
Mike
