Distant Planet

Another of my homemade tunes. One of the things I learned from Chet, or something that I was born with, is a love of lots of different styles of music. That shows a bit in this tune, which has a mixture of classical, blues, New Age, Chet, and Jerry flavorings.

The tune evolved from some fingering exercises I developed for myself. I don't know if any of you will like it, but I hope at least a few of you do. Maybe at least there's a lick or two that you'd like to adapt in your own playing.

All my best,
Bruce

Bruce, I hope no fingers or thumbs were injured in making this great video. As for adapting licks to my playing, and I use the term very loosely, I feel licked already just listening to it (no sexual or pugilistic puns intended)! KOPAP. Billy

Ray, Bill, Larry, and Billy: I appreciate your Very nice comments. I'm delighted you liked the tune, and I appreciate you taking the time to tell me so.

Larry: it's been several years since I visited in Pittsburgh ... maybe you can have some scrapple for me some time :)

All my best
Bruce

Great picking, and what a great tone you've got going on there, Bruce! :D

I like the contrast of section A with the arpeggios and then section B with the thumb. Nice!

I'll be stealing your licks while you're reading this post.

Another great job Bruce. I also agree with Randy... I like the contrast from part A to B... Wonderful.

Randy and Ron: thank you very much, guys. I also like songs with contrast and with surprises. Glad that I achieved some of that in this tune.

Larry: at least the "Stillers" played a really good game. That was one of the better Super Bowls I've seen in a while (except for the appearances by Christina Aguilera and The Black-Eyed Peas).
