Thanks Kent (and again, thanks everyone for the comments). I'm taking a break from working on AGW to uncross my eyes...

I do remember Tony, and have at least one of his recordings in "the archives." One of my friends played guitar for Sinatra in concert some years ago, and he (Frank) complimented him, telling him his playing reminded him of Mottola.

With "Time in a Bottle", the most important thing for me was to try to "cop" Jim and Maury's (Croce's friend and second guitarist/harmony vocalist) guitar parts exactly. (I think I got pretty close.) Overdubbing a lead was an afterthought, but when I did, the Delvecchio seemed to fit best. And, when playing a DV, it's hard not to ask yourself WWCD ("What Would Chet Do?").
