The Chetboard

Jerry isn't playing a Del Vecchio, it's missing the label on the headstock. I think it's one of his Baldwins. You can see the volume knob on the side of the guitar that he had installed on all of his Baldwins.



I also don't think it's Jerry playing when Merle starts off. It sounds that it's only Chet and Merle playing, so I'm guessing Chet is playing rhythm.

It also appears that the lower bout is chopped off the guitar in Jerry's hands. Some DVs (and/or copies) had a pickup and a single volume dial (https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/73 ... f10fde.jpg). Also, Chet did have a custom made Del Vecchio with a pickup:



But the observations made so far seem to weigh against the theory that the guitar Jerry is holding is a DV. LMark
