Tis So Sweet

Postby MrAstro » Tue Jan 19, 2016 7:57 pm

This is an arrangement I came up with of another old hymn played on a Gibson ES-175. I think it has a beautiful tune. This is only my second arrangement so it's pretty basic stuff really.

It starts of slowly and the Chet styled stuff comes after the opening theme.

Anyway hope you enjoy it...

Thanks very much Harold. I was surprised that I came up with it. I was sort of noodling on Saturday and the beginning of the tune sort of fell under my fingers. I'm really pleased that this style is starting to click and I can begin to play some nice melodic unaccompanied music. It makes a nice change from the stuff I used to play.

I started to learn Chet's style of picking just under a year ago. I can tell that it's going to keep me occupied for the time I've got left here. I just wish I started learning it all earlier.

I have a lot of actual Chet numbers that I'm working on at the moment. They take a little longer for me to pump out to a reasonable standard :-)
