Ed Beaver and I are hanging with Bresh in Scottsdale, AZ. We took a trip to Laguna Beach to see Kirk Sand. Bresh is documenting our visit. Here's our day 1 video. John

Great, John! Really enjoyed this video.

Looks like a beautiful place Thom has there!

p.s. Consumer Reports now lists 'In&Out' as the "best" burger in America today, although I still miss those fresh White Castles from back home! :)

Entertaining video and John, I really like the way you play that song (title?). How was your guitar recorded? It has so much presence and studio quality tone.

Thom, Keep those videos coming. They are more entertaining than some of the produced TV shows these days.
Thanks,
Ronnie Evans

Thanks, guys. The tune I'm playing is "Os Rios Do Sol" which is Portuguese for "The Rivers of the Sun." Bresh recorded the sound using the mic in his Canon video recorder. If you'd like to play it, it's in issue #18 of my Quarterly.

Bresh recorded me playing my tune "Gardenia" in his back yard at PickersParadise. He used his Sony PCM-D1 digital recorder for the audio. He hid it behind the little bush by my left knee. He turned off the waterfall to get clean audio and then turned it on to get nice video. He still had to use "Sound Soap" software to get rid of some wind noise. And in one shot, the Sony recorder was visible so he covered it by "pasting" video of the surrounding gravel. Amazing. When he was done, he took video of the waterfall and then recorded the sound of the waterfall to complete the effect.

Bresh is the man.

I play "Gardenia" in the key of D with dropped-D tuning. Here's the video:

And the music/TAB is in issue #20 of my Quarterly:

Enjoy the music.

Very nice. A beautiful setting with cactus, waterfall, and all. The song is very good and has a Mexican flavor perfect for the setting. The audio is great just like in the studio. Thom did a terrific job hiding the recorder and handling the wind noise and fountain. You must have enjoyed that spot and it's reflected in your playing...are there some funny out takes?

Thanks for sharing,
Ronnie Evans

Ver nice, Dr. John. Done with your usual excellence.

The Bresh Man has really mastered the art of recording, hasn't he? I bet you guys had a blast.

Thanks for all you've done to make a gazillion pickets better.
