Here's a clip of Chet playing Black Mountain Rag on the Grand Master Fiddler Championship in '73. The quality of the video is poor but the audio is decent. There are more clips of Chet during this edition of GMFC but this is the only one where he's performing. In the others he explains the difference in fiddling styles etc.

I wonder what guitar that is that he gave to Porter. He said Chet had recorded with it.

That's great! Thanks so much for posting this.
It sounds like a Haile, but it's hard to say. It might just be Chet's touch. The body shape and extended headstock look about right. Anyway, just a mic pointed at the soundhole, and it sounds great.

So glad to see this clip for the first time. When Chet referred to Dallas and the noisy planes, I realized he was talking about the night we met.
