D minor Ditty (for Pa)

Postby keener » Sun Mar 02, 2014 2:13 pm

I'm sure you folks have grown tired of my old videos, but the following one, which I made moons ago in honor of Jim Pa Cobble, has garnered some pretty good comments on Facebook, so I figured, what the hey ...

Merry Christmas, Easter, and all that.

That's really nice, Bruce. I could feel a little bit of Buster B in that one. It brings up pleasant memories for me too of a fine gentleman, Jim "Pa" Cobble.

Mighty fine work there Bruce! Your guitar videos are your greatest legacy as far as I'm concerned. Pa was a dear friend of mine also.

Bruce, I really enjoyed your intricate right hand pattern. It was nicely syncopated but yet distinct and clear. Many people tend to run things together when tunes are complex and everything feels "jumbled up" and muddy. This was quite skillful! Thanks!

Bruce,
Thanks for posting. I enjoy all your videos and not tired of any of them. I hadn't seen you post in a while and was wondering how you were doing. That's a beauty of a ditty.
Happy 4th of July!

Pa Cobble was an honorable man. I think that he was the first "new" friend I made at CAAS in 1999. Thank you, Bruce, for re-remembering him. LMark

Thank you LMark. I think Pa was my first friend on this board.

Thank you much Gary, Rande, Roger, and Richard. And, of course, Happy July 4th. How could I forget that one?

Bruce....that is a great tune! I'm serious when I say that I hope I can be half as creative as you when I grow up, if I ever do! My wife thinks I'm like another child for her at times! Maybe I am....but the guitar is one of my best pacifiers. Trying to learn Chet, Jerry, Merle, and Tommy tunes is a daunting task. I would be ahead of the game quite a bit more if I had your skills, or those of Richard Hudson, or many of the other Chetboarders who are at levels higher than I, but regardless, I do have fun trying. I'm better today than I was 10 years ago, so I can't quit now!
