My Chet Atkins Medley

Postby keener » Tue Aug 17, 2010 8:48 am

A medley of three tunes that Chet popularized, including one he wrote: My Town, Salty Dog Rag, and a tune I don't know the name of (will fill in when you folks tell me what it is). Update: As Tom points out below, the name of the third tune in the medley is Batacuda.

I practiced the pull-offs and rolls until they didn't turn out too shabby, so I hope you enjoy. My rendering of My Town is not exactly like Chet's, but I try to keep the spirit of it. (For a more exact rendering, see Craig Dobbins' Facebook page, where he does a great job with it.)

I hope you enjoy.

Tom and Walt,
Thank you very much. I enjoyed playing it. Salty Dog Rag was one of the first tunes I learned. Never seems to get old to me.

All my best

I think the last tune is "Batucada", which is from the Standard Brands album.
