Here's Teresa Webster playing an old Jim Reeves song: "Dear Hearts and Gentle People" at our 2010 Gospel Guitar Night. You can also see other videos from that night at: http://www.youtube.com/guitarchuck

Sis Teresa is a fine player. The rolls she does are to perfection.

I took my first guitar lessons from Teresa's dad, Travis Martin. He was really good & smooth on those rolls too! :P

There are a lot of things that I do rather poorly in my guitar playing and the rolls is one of them. I was always impressed with the way Jim Cobble seemed to do them with ease. Of course, Chet was the master and it seemed obvious to me that he had practiced long and hard to perfect that one skill. I think the thing that has kept me from being able to do them very well is the many years I spent playing with a straight pick. I guess a poor excuse is better than none.

Thank you very much, that was good to listen to. Jim´s songs will last forever, particularly his own versions. On Norwegian radio we have a channel called NRK Gull (Gold). Programs from the last 75 years are being played 24 hours a day, and I remember many of them from my own childhood. It strikes me how much better and more intelligent programs used to be, music, entertainment shows, documentaries, theater performances and others. Listeners are asked to send in their wishes, and I have done so several times. Last week I asked if they had a radio recording of the 1964 show with Jim, Chet, Bobby Bare and The Anita Kerr Singers. They didn´t, but instead they sent a one hour documentary on Jim and his life and music. It was repeated three times during the 24 hours in two 30 minute parts. That was good listening!
