A Little Lenny Fix

I know these new (to me) clips of Lenny and Tal Farlow are "all jazz", but I'm sure this is what Chet saw and loved in him. (It seems that Chet already knew how to thumb pick, and, he got a lot better at harmonics after he started "hangin' with Lenny.) Just two of the world's finest jazz guitarists sharing their talents.

I figured you'd especially like those, John. You've got some great stories about your time with Lenny. Our local "Chet-style" player up here in Columbus, Ohio, Terry Efaw, has some great stories about "hangin' with the man, as well.

Great video.Tal had "huge" hands and on the short 24 3/4 scale could almost stretch from the 1st to the 12th fret.Lenny's tone was good in this video, probably from not playing so many harmonics.Again great video.Thanx, Ty M.

Thanks. I really enjoyed that clip. I was a big Lenny Breau fan from 1968 on.

Palmer, that was AWESOME!!!! Tal Farlow absolutely killed me when he was comping with those upstrokes towards the beginning of the tune!

Care to share any of those Lenny stories with us Palmer?

Palmer -

I never get tired of watching Lenny and Tal jam. Makes me almost want to buy another Gibson Tal Farlow. I'm also glad that John is doing so much to help keep Lenny's music alive for the new generation of guitarists.

Thanks again, Palmer -
