Claes Neeb in 1988

Here's a very nice rendition of 'Charade' recorded on a home video in 1988 by Claes Neeb. Claes is an excellent fingerstyle guitarist in my opinion!

I saw this fellow as CAAS in the late 90's, he was very good. It's amazing to me that so many folks play Chet's style well in countries all over the world. I wonder if he is as famous in Norway as Dadi was in France.

Excellent Chet - style! He even has some facial expressions that remind me of Chet.

Tom, I can assure you that Chet is very popular here in Norway and has been so for a long time. Even before the legendary Oslo show on April 15, 1964, he was almost a household name because his records were frequently played on the radio. The TV transmission of that show did help make him even more popular, and that inspired a host of young aspiring guitar pickers to do their best to sound like him. Not all of us has succeded like Claas Neeb did of course. He won a talent show when he was a young lad, being presented as a Norwegian Chet Atkins. I remember him not being quite comfortable with that, modest as he was.

Some of those Claes Neeb videos it looks like Claes modified a new 59 Country Gent to look like the original single cuts...pretty cool, Al

I totally agree with Daivd, I always thought Claes Neeb was an excellent fingerstyle guitarist. I think he has a lot of feeling in his playing, plus he has great hands. I have always wondered why he doesn't get more attention. As far as being a good "Chet stylist", I would rate him at least in the top 10% of todays front runners.
