Remembering Chet on his birthday, June 20, 1924.

Perfection.

Amazing! Chet made the nylon string guitar almost sound like a steel string. His abilities still amaze me. As Craig said, "Perfection!"

I think he really loved it when his itinerary could afford a string section.

Also interesting is the sidebar link where you can hear the Django.Grapelly version which probably inspired Chet to do the song

Now, this is the way I'd like to remember Chet. Not like that video of him and Tommy at CAAS....good Lord I wished they'd pull that off youtube!! I hate to see videos of Chet in his bad health.

Nobody wants to remember Chet in bad health, but the 1999 CAAS video is nothing bad. It shows Chet doing what he loved to do...right up until the end...despite any hardship he was going through at the time.

The more Chet, the better.

Happy bday, Chet. You are remembered and missed.
Thanks,
George
