Waltz For The Lonely

I never got to meet Chet however, I have had many conversations with several people who did meet him and some of these were people who were very close to him.

As I am sure all of you know, Chet was more interested in hearing a player's own opinion about music than he was in hearing his own opinion attempted to be played back to him. So, with this in mind...

You will notice that I have put some of myself into this interpretation of the tune he wrote with Randy Goodrum, "Waltz For The Lonely".

However, apart from:
    changing the feel,
    fleshing out the chords a bit,
    moving a few barlines,
    altering the time signature in few spots,
    adding an extra melody note to the tremolo,
    putting a little more drama in the ending,
    and changing the melody in one spot;
this is exactly how Chet played it ;)

That was certainly a different version than Chet's ... As you said you changed a few things :) It has a jazz flavor. Very nicely played. Thanks.

Very nicely played, Randy. I appreciate hearing an artist putting more of themselves into their music rather than trying to duplicate what someone else has already done.

Well, thanks Bruce, Ron, Richard, Jack and everyone who had a listen.

This was the first time I ever recorded and posted myself playing on the internet. I have a lot to learn, not the least of which is how to more accurately record the sound that comes out of my amp. I actually ended up bypassing my amp and just recording direct because it got to frustrating.

Hi Randy, I see you posted this arrangement of yours over week ago. Somehow I missed seeing it until today, enjoyed listening. Very nice what you did with this great song. Real pretty music.
