Higher Ground

A few weeks ago I went into the studio at Benson Sound in Oklahoma City to lay down rhythm tracks for some of the songs on my upcoming gospel instrumental album. It was a lot of fun to be able to record with some old friends. This is Richard Kiser's arrangement. I asked him for permission to include this on my new album and he graciously consented. I shoudn't be sharing this before it is finished, but I wanted you to hear some of what is going on. This is not the finished product, but we're getting there. Thank you for taking the time to listen.

Great job, Richard! It sounds as though you used a Gretsch, but that unique touch you have is certainly smooth sounding and beautiful no matter which guitar you played! Thanks for sharing!

I have my dream guitar and my dream amplifier. That being the G6122-1959 Nashville Classic, now called Country Gentleman, and the Parkel 25L15 amp built for me by Bud Park. The amp is a clone to the original Standels. Actually it was reverse engineered from an amp that was 10 serial numbers away from Chet's, the 3 knob version. I couldn't be happier.

Thank you all for listening. I am really trying to make this my best effort so far. Again, much thanks to my good friend, Richard Kiser, for allowing me to use his arrangement on this good old song.
