A song I wrote
No one has started posting here in this audio section, so I decided to get it started. I recorded this last year when I had my Gibson Studio CE. The title of the song is: The Good Samaritan. I know there's better pickers here on the Chetboard, but I thought I would post this to get this thread going. http://www.acidplanet.com/components/embedfile.asp?asset=1233101&T=1572 I hope this link works for everyone!

Chuck, that's a lovely song and well-played. I loved your bass sound.
As for "there's better pickers," that should never hender any of us from playing, and I'm glad it didn't stop you. For all I know, everybody on the board can pick better than me, but I don't care. I post tunes to get the music out of me (I don't really have anyone to share tunes with otherwise) and to share licks with others ... if someone likes a lick I play, they can use it, just as I'll use theirs.
Anyway, I appreciated your composition and your playing.
Thanks,
Bruce

Thanks Bruce & Roger for the kind words. I used a Gibson Studio CE plugged into a Line 6 UX2 into the computer. If I remember right I ran it through the software tube pre-amp simulator and added some reverb.
Also, I really enjoy your videos on YouTube Bruce! You do some fine playing.

Hey Chuck,
Nice playing and nice song!
I have a Line 6 UX2, but I've never really done much with it. I did play with the GearBox software just a little bit while listening through headphones, but I've never tried recording with it. In fact, I haven't tried recording with any type of computer software. Do you use the Ableton software that came with it, or are you using something else?
Thanks,
Bill Bailey

Hi Bill,
I used the Riffworks program to record it. It seemed easier to me. I actually bought the full version of Riffworks instead of just using the light version that came with the Line 6. I probably didn't need the full version though, because I haven't used it much. I think I used Gearbox with that recording. They now have Pod Farm which they say is better than Gearbox and you can upgrade for free using the Line 6 Monkey program. I need to record more and learn about this stuff!
