Devil Woman

Postby Richard Hudson » Thu Dec 26, 2013 1:23 am

This is a song I have had on my mind for several days, so I decided to try it. Marty Robbins was a great artist and this is a great song that he wrote. It's one of my favorites that he did. Admittedly nothing to do with Chet, but I know he loved country music and I'm sure he and Marty had contact quite often.

I hope you enjoy Devil Woman.

Very nice, Richard!! I especially like the nice guitar fills, and you have a great voice for singing Marty's tunes. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thank you, Bill. The hardest part for me was doing those fills. Grady Martin was, imo, the best ever at that, whether it be acoustic or electric. He always seemed to know just when and how much and never overdid it.

Very nice, Richard. I was fortunate enough to play bass in a popular local band back in the late 70's/early 80's and we would frequently open for some of the big name acts at a local theatre. During one of the times we got to open for Marty Robbins I had the good fortune to have a nice one-on-one chat with him backstage between shows. He was the same person on stage and off, a lot of fun and had a great sense of humor. He was a ledgend in his own time but, not the least bit aloof not to mention a great talent and entertainer. -Tom W.
